Heath Bar Poke Cake

Highly raved about, this easy Heath Bar Poke Cake, aka Better than Sex cake, aka Dump Cake is too good to be true. And the best part is that it’s totally customizable and you can use just about anything to make your wildest dreams come true here. I only lead with this because while I love Heath Bars, Jacob says and I quote “those are for like, old old people”.

I don’t know what that’s supposed to mean, but I got plenty of messages to confirm that Heath Bars are not, in fact, for super old people. No offense to the super old, it’s a subjective term.

Anyways, to make this super easy cake, you’ll need to make a box of Devil Food Cake according to the directions on the box. Make sure you have the eggs and oil that the ingredients list calls for. Next, you will need a small can of Eagle Brand (sweetened condensed milk), caramel, 4 Heath Bars, and cool whip. Sure, you have to bake the cake, but everything is pre-made and ready to be assembled.

You can carefully poke holes and pour in the sweetened condensed milk while the cake is still hot, but you’ll want to wait until it’s completely cooled before adding the cool whip. Other than that, the sky is the limit! You can use caramel or butterscotch in place of the sweetened condensed milk, and I’m also going to give this a try with a German Chocolate cake mix as well.

And while it’s not totally necessary, if you can give this cake 12-24 hours in the fridge to let the cake soak up the liquids, you wouldn’t regret it.
